Moving On

At Spring Common Academy we work closely with external professionals to ensure a smooth transition for our pupils in Key Stage 4 and Post 16 to further education and social care settings.

Our annual Moving On evening gives parents/carers the opportunity to meet representatives from further education colleges, social care organisations, training/social enterprise providers and support groups from our local area.

Sian Johnson is our local authority Additional Needs Pathway Adviser, who provides knowledge on transition, further education, training and employment is also available for telephone consultations during the Autumn and Spring terms.

Information, advice and guidance on education, training and employment for young people up to age 25, who attend a special school/have an EHCP, is provided by our Additional Needs Pathway Advisers.

     Young Adults Team

 

The young adults team is part of the Learning Disability Partnership (LDP). The team supports young people with a learning disability from age 18 until they transfer to their local LDP team. This is likely to be (but is not automatically) at the end of formal education.

Thinking about and preparing for the future can be full of possibilities and new things for young people and their families. The PFA helpline is available every Monday of each week from 9am-12pm.
